NMM Live! | Tatag! Gamelan

This midday concert will feature the NMM’s spectacular Javanese gamelan, the Kyai Rengga Manis Everist Gamelan, one of the largest and finest examples outside of Indonesia. Originating centuries ago, gamelan refers to a revered ensemble of mostly percussion instruments—crafted, tuned, and intended to be played together—embodying a powerful tradition of collective music-making.

This season marks a leadership transition for Tatag!, with Darin Wadley of the USD Department of Music stepping in as director, following the many years of dedicated guidance provided by Debbie Reeves. The spring concert serves as both a culmination of the ensemble’s work and a celebration of community music-making at the National Music Museum.

This program is free of cost for NMM Members!

Admission is free.

A live stream of this concert will be available to watch for free on our website. Please visit the NMM Live Video page to tune in if you cannot join us in person!
