NMM celebrates the Klezmer musical tradition

The National Music Museum is featuring a small special exhibit, The Kolor of Klezmer, exploring the vibrant music associated with 19th-century Eastern European Jews. The NMM is displaying several musical instruments associated with klezmer’s unique sound — including an Albert-system clarinet, a Meyer flute, a rotary valve trumpet and bass trombone, a hammered dulcimer known as tsymbaly, a button accordion, and an Eastern European-made violin. This exhibit will be in place in the Larson Concert Hall at the NMM through early fall.
